Brenda Kranz

Executive Officer

Brenda commenced as the Executive Officer with PGA in September 2023. With a PhD and postdoctoral experience in insect ecology, and a combined 7+ years working in research and development management for Hort Innovation and AgriFutures, she is passionate about working with the team to deliver tangible, profitable and sustainable outcomes for growers.

Shoaib Shah

Research Officer

Shoaib commenced as a Research Officer with PGA in January 2025, based in Mildura. He has completed his PhD from Edith Cowan University, Joondalup, WA and has experience both in overseas and in Australian horticulture industry focusing on production and postharvest physiology of fruit crops including blackberries, raspberries, jackfruit, mangoes and litchi.

Kelsy Burns

Extension Officer​

Kelsy commenced as an Extension Officer with PGA in July 2024, based in Mildura. Kelsy has worked in parks conservation, on supply chain projects for rubber and woodfuel, and more recently in vocational education. Kelsy is studying a PhD with University of Sydney and One Basin CRC, using action research to study local governance of water bodies within the Murray-Darling Basin.

Anne Bates

Accounts

Anne commenced as the Bookkeeper with PGA in early 2024. Anne has worked as an accountant for over 25 years and as a registered tax agent for 20 years. Having worked in accounting practice and running her own small business, Anne now works full-time as a Finance Manager and maintains a small business of BAS & Tax clients.

Trevor Ranford

Public Officer and Representative for
Pistachios to Plant Health Australia

Trevor was the Executive Officer for PGA from April 2010 to September 2023. Trevor has held many executive and management roles in the South Australian and Australian horticulture sector for over 47 years and has extensive experience in leading organisations through change. His scope includes agri-politics, advocacy, governance, market access, natural resources, training, and public relations.
