The $50 million Australian pistachio industry is relatively young but our growers are passionate about producing premium nuts that customers enjoy and consumers love.
While the industry here is small compared to the global giants in California, Iran and Turkey, it is steadily gaining momentum and production is forecast to more than triple by 2030 from 2018.
As the industry grows, the Pistachio Growers’ Association continues to work closely with growers and processors to address challenges, solve problems, share knowledge and advocate for the needs of our members.
The grower-only section of the PGA website is part of our offering to grower members of PGA, which hosts a range of useful resources including:
- Factsheets and technical bulletins with tips on pest, disease and orchard management
- Newsletters to keep you in the loop about the latest activities and R&D from across the globe
- Presentation and video library of previous Pistachio Information and Technology (PIT) Groups, giving access to specialist information and advice
- Latest information on chemical permits for use in pistachio orchards, as approved by APVMA
- Access to a continually evolving pistachio production guide that includes knowledge from international research, as well as experienced growers within Australia
